About the artist: Rick Beck is a celebrated studio glass artist known for his large-scale cast glass sculptures exploring industrial forms and the human figure. After working in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, for three decades, he relocated to Hawaii in 2020. Beck holds a BA from Hastings College and an MFA from Southern Illinois University. A recipient of fellowships from the North Carolina Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, he has taught at Pilchuck Glass School and the Penland School of Craft for decades.
