Virginia Fisher, born in Memphis, Tennessee, is a metalsmith and fiber artist who holds a BFA from Appalachian State University. Specializing in copper work, Virginia creates intricate copper basketry, botanical art, and jewelry. Her pieces are regularly featured in solo exhibitions, group shows, craft fairs, and galleries.
Recently, Virginia relocated to Missouri, where she is building a new home and studio, continuing her artistic journey in the peaceful surroundings of the Ozarks. Immersed in nature, she draws inspiration from the natural world, blending organic forms with the symbolic qualities of copper. For her, copper acts as a conduit—transforming personal musings and experiences into tangible forms of art.
Outside of her studio, Virginia embraces a joyful, simple life with her family. She spends much of her free time gardening, cooking, and engaging in a variety of creative pursuits that enrich both her work and her life. The influences of nature, domesticity, and the "wild" are central themes in her creative process, adding depth and emotion to her work.
